EFFECTIVENESS:
High Angle Long shots of the singer makes the singer seem distant from the narrative thus avoiding confusion of the singer being the reason of the couple's breakup.
Crazy sequence, goes from mid angle of the girl walking in to low angle of the girl furious and throwing everything and goes from low to high when she slides down the cupboard. This is effective as it symbolises her mood swings and the confusion she will be feeling as soon as she finds out that she has been cheated on.
There is a contrast with the long shots of the singer to the close up shots of the actress. This allows the singer to take an omniscient, distant narrative voice whereas the actress is filmed in close up to emphasise the personal story she is unveiling in the video, this further allows the audience to create an intimate bond with the actress and really understand her pain as they have become so close with her and her story.
The lighting is kept natural for the singer whereas its artificial for the narrative to contrast the difference and I believe this is effective as it allows the audience to get into the story but at the same time face the 'reality' of the situation through the singer.
The sequences and shots of the couple are filmed in low angle to resemble their 'high' of being in love but when the actress leaves it has gone to a mid/high shot to show that she has "come down from cloud nine" and realised her reality.
Hand held camera/ Rolling shot movement is effective for the scenes where her life gets "rough and bumpy". It allows the audience to feel the confusion and the anger as well as following conventions of drama and action shot movements where the best bits of drama eg. in Jerry Springer are done with a camera man holding the camera. These hand held camera techniques are also echoed in the solo scenes of the singer to build a complete picture of the drama as the song gets dramatic and so does the narrative so will the solo scenes.
